Whalrus Hunting

Northern Foxe Basin is one of the eastern Arctic’s richest walrus areas. The walruses ensured the Iglulingmiut food and fuel (blubber). Throughout history people in the area were privileged by these rich resources. In the film men are shooting and harpooning the large animals, which can weigh more than one ton. Nothing is wasted in the butchering process. The hunters are rewarded with delicacies, such as the raw, hot liver, eaten on the spot.
