The stratified layers are an archive of the past. The layers are excavated one at a time in order to keep finds from different layers separate. In that way we can learn about chronological changes in tools and weaponry and the preferred game species of different periods. Watch the film
Traces of Inuit, the last inhabitants of Qajaa. A stave from a vessel originates from the last inhabitants, the Thule-people. Inuit was taught this vessels techniques by the Norse that lived in South Greenland from around 800 to 1400.
