Ancient timberhouses on the North Atlantic Islands and in Colonial Greenland – Diffusion and Innovation
This project concentrates on the buildings and the Norwegian building tradition from the 18th and 19th Century on the Faroe Islands, in Iceland and in Greenland. The first part of the project will be to produce new dendrochronological referencechronologies (master chronologies) for pine (Pinus silv.) in Norway . The second part will be to date the buildings and to identify the provenance of the timber used in the buildings. The project is under development.
