Cultural Contacts across the Skagerrak and Kattegat during the Viking Age

The project sets focus on the material evidence for the social and political relations in the Skagerrak and Kattegat area that are suggested by contemporary written souces and favoured also by topographical circumstances. How were political alliances and elite networks maintained and visually communicated? And  was there a direct link between political power and economic exchange?

Coordinator: Anne Pedersen

The project is running from 2009 until 2012
